San Jose Handyman Services for Every Corner of Your Home
One trusted local pro for repairs, installations and maintenance across San Jose and the South Bay. Browse the full list below — and if you do not see it, just ask.
How Pricing Works
Describe the job by phone or text — a photo helps — and I will give you a price for it. Bigger projects may need a quick look in person first. Either way you will know the number before I start, and I will tell you honestly if a job really needs a licensed specialist instead.
Mounting & Installation
Anything that needs to go on a wall and stay there. I find the studs, use the right anchors for the wall type, and take the time to get it level — then tidy up the cables so the finished job looks clean. A popular request from homeowners in San Jose, Santa Clara and Los Gatos.
- TV wall mounting and cord concealment
- Hanging pictures, mirrors, shelves, and artwork
- Installing curtain rods, blinds, and window treatments
- Mounting floating shelves and closet organizers
- Installing towel bars, grab bars, and bathroom hardware
- Baby-proofing and safety installations
Doors, Windows & Locks
A door that sticks, drags or will not latch is usually a small adjustment rather than a replacement. I also handle lock and deadbolt swaps, smart locks and video doorbells, and the weatherstripping that keeps drafts and dust out.
- Door repair, adjustment, and weatherstripping
- Installing new interior and exterior doors
- Fixing sticking, squeaking, or misaligned doors
- Sliding door and screen door repair
- Replacing locks, deadbolts, and door handles
- Installing smart locks and video doorbells
- Window repair, re-screening, and caulking
Painting & Finishing
Prep is most of the job. I patch, sand, mask and protect your floors and furniture before a brush comes out, which is what separates a paint job that looks sharp for years from one that looks rushed.
- Interior room and accent wall painting
- Exterior touch-ups and trim painting
- Staining and sealing decks, fences, and doors
- Caulking and sealing gaps
- Baseboard, crown molding, and trim installation
- Cabinet repainting and refinishing
Plumbing (Minor)
The everyday plumbing jobs that do not need a full plumbing crew — a dripping faucet, a toilet that runs all night, a disposal that has given up. If a job turns out to need a licensed plumber, I will tell you straight away rather than take it on.
- Faucet repair and replacement
- Toilet repair, running toilets, and replacement
- Fixing leaks and dripping fixtures
- Installing garbage disposals
- Unclogging drains and slow drains
- Replacing shower heads, valves, and supply lines
- Installing water filters and dishwasher hookups
Electrical (Minor)
Straightforward like-for-like replacements — fixtures, fans, switches, outlets, thermostats and detectors. Anything involving new circuits, panel work or a permit is a job for a licensed electrician, and I will say so upfront.
- Replacing light fixtures and ceiling fans
- Installing dimmer switches and outlets
- Swapping out switches and cover plates
- Under-cabinet and accent lighting
- Replacing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
- Installing programmable thermostats
Flooring
From laying new click-flooring in a single room to chasing down the one floorboard that squeaks every morning. I finish with the baseboard and transitions so the edges look properly done, not merely covered.
- Laminate, vinyl plank, and click-flooring installation
- Tile repair and grout cleaning/resealing
- Replacing damaged floorboards and transitions
- Squeaky floor repair
- Baseboard and quarter-round installation
- Carpet patching and re-stretching
Kitchen & Bathroom
You do not need a full remodel to make a kitchen or bathroom feel newer. Fresh caulk, clean grout, a new faucet or vanity and soft-close hinges go a long way for a fraction of the cost and disruption.
- Cabinet door and hinge repair, soft-close installs
- Installing backsplashes
- Re-caulking tubs, showers, and sinks
- Replacing countertops (laminate/prefab)
- Installing new sinks and vanities
- Regrouting tile and fixing loose tiles
Furniture & Assembly
Flat-pack furniture, playsets, trampolines, exercise equipment and patio sets — assembled properly, squared up and checked for wobble, with the packaging cleared away. A common call from busy households in Cupertino, Mountain View and Palo Alto.
- Flat-pack furniture assembly (IKEA, etc.)
- Bed frame, desk, and shelving assembly
- Playsets, trampolines, and outdoor furniture
- Exercise equipment assembly
- Grill and patio furniture setup
Exterior & Outdoor
The outside of a house takes the most weather and gets looked at the least. Gutters, pressure washing, fence and gate repair, exterior lighting and the caulking around doors and windows all fall here.
- Gutter cleaning and minor repair
- Pressure washing driveways, siding, and patios
- Fence and gate repair
- Deck repair, board replacement, and staining
- Mailbox installation and repair
- Exterior light fixture installation
- Caulking and sealing around windows and doors
Decks, Fences & Light Carpentry
Carpentry work at handyman scale — repairing decks and railings, rebuilding a sagging gate, replacing rotted posts and boards, and building shelving or built-ins that look like they belong in the room.
- Building and repairing decks and railings
- Fence and gate building and repair
- Installing shelving and built-ins
- Framing and trim carpentry
- Repairing rotted wood and posts
- Pet doors and small structural fixes
Seasonal & Preventive Maintenance
The maintenance that prevents the expensive repair later. Book a walk-through and I will work down the list in one visit — filters, caulk, gutters, weatherproofing and anything else that needs attention before the rains arrive.
- Home maintenance checkups and punch lists
- Weatherproofing and winterizing
- Replacing HVAC filters
- Gutter guards and downspout repair
- Caulk and seal inspections
- Pressure washing and exterior refresh
Odd Jobs & Miscellaneous
The list on the fridge that never quite gets done. Move-in and move-out repairs, rental turnovers, small remodels, light demolition and hauling — plus all the one-off jobs that do not fit neatly in any other category.
- Honey-do list completion
- Move-in / move-out repairs and touch-ups
- Rental property turnover and make-ready
- Small remodeling projects
- Junk hauling and light demolition
- General repairs — if it is broken, I will take a look
Do not see your project? It is probably on the list too — just ask.
